About the channel
Join BJJ coral belt, Gang of Eight and Dirty Dozen member, Dave Meyer as we draw wisdom from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the martial arts and explore how it applies to life, success in business, and your long-term health. Dave began BJJ with the Machado brothers (Gracie family) in 1990, and is one of the first Americans to receive a black belt and then a coral belt. He's the first American to medal at black belt in a BJJ World Championship (1998). At age 63 he still competes in BJJ, has won 11 world titles over the years, and is the current world champion in his age division. He and John Will in 1999 created the first grappling and MMA curriculums sold to nearly 1,000 martial arts schools globally, including for Chuck Norris and his association. He authored “Training for Competition: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling,” and co-authored “The Triangle”. He’s also an advocate for animal welfare, cofounding a nonprofit, building and then selling the AdoptaPet.com website.
